This week, was relatively eventful. I spent most of the first half preparing for festival. As a group we talked about our reading of our book early in the week. Then we spent the rest getting ourselves ready, We needed to make sure we had enough knowledge of the topic to be able to hold conversations with people and to show them that we know what we are talking about. For the most part I would say we already had a good understanding but us talking and gathering more information, did help us and make us more ready. But going back to the book. For the most part our conversation this week was for the most part pretty similar to the other ones we have done.
We had a really indepth conversation, about what we thought of the book so far. We have a lot of interesting thoughts on the book but also kind of disagree as to what the author says. Some of the book is in his own opinions or through his own learnings which I do not completely agree with the one hundred percent. One quote that really stuck with me is from chapter 3. It states “we do not tremble because we are afraid or cry because we feel sad; we are afraid because we tremble and sad because we cry” This quote is about how fear is not fear it self, we get scared at the thought of getting scared. However the author presents these as a personal point of view and it annoys me because I would like him to decide if it's gonna be factual or opinion based not a mix. As a group we do think that the book offers a bunch of useful knowledge and useful facts, that will greatly help us with our project. I feel for the most part we are prepared and are on task with our work which is a great sign.
